Dessert lovers, rejoice! Captain Cookie is here to cure your sugar longings and answer your sweet-tooth hopes and dreams with freshly-baked cookies, local milk, and ice cream sandwiches. Not familiar with this cookie caper? Owners Juliann and Kirk Francis met as undergraduates at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and began their baking enterprise as a Cookiemobile which frequented college campuses around Washington, D.C. They quickly gained a reputation, especially for their ice cream sandwiches called out by both the D.C. Eater and the Washingtonian as among the best on the Hill.

Years of success brought a catering division, two flagship brick-and-mortar stores, and four trucks circulating the greater D.C. area. Now Transfer Co. Food Hall is their third permanent location. You might be tempted to call it home when you extinguish your warm cookie in a tall glass of milk—just like how mom served it.
