Old Heavy Hands w/ John Howie Jr. and the Rosewood Bluff

  • Transfer Co. Food Hall 500 East Davie Street Raleigh, NC, 27601 United States (map)

The Transfer Co. Ballroom is BACK with another performance in the heart of downtown Raleigh.

Formed in 2015 in Greensboro, North Carolina, Old Heavy Hands forge a compelling brand of heart felt southern rock informed as much by the Muscle Shoals tradition as the DIY punk rock of their youth.

Having shared stages with country legends like Merle Haggard, Billie Joe Shaver, and George Jones, John Howie Jr.'s a bona fide North Carolina icon. Bursting onto the scene in the mid-90s with the Two Dollar Pistols, Howie now fronts the Rosewood Bluff. The band’s five-piece line-up (including pedal steel guitar) allows for movement between honky-tonk shuffles, driving country-rock numbers and deep soul ballads, all delivered via Howie’s rich baritone.
